CTXM (Games OS) is a veteran gaming software development. Having appeared on the market in the early 2000s, the provider became one of the market leaders in the first decade of the new century. It was involved in both the production of games and the provision of B2B and B2C services.
CTXM (Games OS) has not officially announced the end of its existence. However, everything indicates that the manufacturer has been absorbed by a competitor – Skywind Group.
Although the provider actually ceased to exist in 2016, its games are still found in existing online casinos. For example, in the same online casino 888, or VideoSlots. But in general, most operators removed this developer from their directories. However, products from CTXM (Games OS) appear already under the flag of other providers: Playtech, Skywind Group.
CTXM, which was later renamed as Games OS, is better known in the iGaming sphere not for its games, but as a platform and intermediary. The very name Games OS says a lot – the operating system for games. The provider helped to open a turnkey casino, integrate games into the catalog, organize the entire management process. Here is a list of the main services from CTXM (Games OS):
This is not a complete list. Games OS worked not only with casinos but also with lottery sites, bookmakers, social networks. The competence included the organization of affiliate networks, payments, provision of anti-fraud systems, data protection, and storage. This package was offered by the developer in 2012. But already in 2016 in the list of "Services", there were only two services: hosting and virtualization. On the site Games OS back in November 2018, you could read the following:
Games OS is a hub for the development of innovative solutions for the gambling market with extensive experience in the field of iGaming.
The company has made a name for itself through the platform and the provision of B2B/B2C services. Back in the days when it was called CTXM, the four main products of the provider were considered: XCasino, XGames, XShop, XBase. The provider offered multi-channel solutions for any kind of gambling business, back-office solutions, marketing tools, social gaming. An important place in the business was occupied by mini-games from Flash.
Locations of offices of the producer: great Britain, Luxembourg, Latvia. The name change from CTXM to Games OS occurred in 2012. The work uses (used) permission from the UK Gaming Commission (UKGC) and Alderney.
CTXM developer appeared in 2001, as a subsidiary of the company C.T.Co. Two years later, the provider worked in the market as an independent unit. Initially, the British company managed to open offices in Luxembourg, later in Riga and Minsk.
At the initial stages, the studio was engaged in software not only for gambling but also for ordinary videograms. For example, they participated in the development of products for the Xbox Live Arcade. In the same 2004, the provider worked in the following areas:
They called themselves "industry veterans," although they actually worked in the industry for several years.
Already at the dawn of its existence, the manufacturer began cooperation with some major brands: Sportingbet and VictorChandler in 2004, with Expekt and Ladbrokes in 2005.
In the same 2005, the studio released a product of virtual racing, which at that time was a real breakthrough. About how CTXM was successful at that time says the fact that in 2005 in the ranking of providers from CasinoCity, he took third place next to such giants as Microgaming and Playtech. The company worked with Flash, Java standards, collaborated with Xbox, produced online slot machines, products for bookmakers.
Along with the portfolio, the number of partner sites increased. CTXM also worked on other areas of its activity – in 2006, the payment platform EcoCard 2 was acquired. A year later, the provider's products received a certificate of conformity from iTech Labs, as well as CMMI certificate – the first in the entire iGaming industry.
An important event happened in 2008, when the GamingOS platform was released, which presented all the necessary tools for management, accounting and integration. This product has also been adapted for social networks. In the same year, a strategic partnership agreement was signed with 888.
The next few years, the presence of the provider in the market only strengthened: entry into the Russian market (2009), obtaining a license Alderney (2009), cooperation with SEGA (2010), the beginning of cooperation with the Cake Poker Network (2010), debut in the Asian market (2011).
By 2012, CTXM's portfolio consisted of about 130 games:
Against the background of constant growth, the loss of the manufacturer in the middle of 2012 seemed a shock. But then it was just a rebranding. It is not clear for what reason it was decided to change the name to Games OS. But with this change, the Studio's recognition plummeted. And after four years, the once-powerful Studio actually ceased to exist.
The new official website (games – os.com) was still available until the end of 2018, but the copyright has not been updated since 2016: Copyright © Games OS 2016. And in 2019, the domain Games OS should be redirected to the portal Skywind Group. We can conclude that there was a takeover.
Over the years, CTXM (Games OS) has created a rich portfolio of over 100 titles. Initially, the provider implemented games on Flash technology (for online casinos) and Java (downloadable products for mobile devices). Later, the transition to the HTML5 standard was implemented.
The structure of the portfolio of the manufacturer:
We can not say that any particular machine from CTXM was a resounding success among the audience. If anywhere slots from this manufacturer and enjoyed popularity, it is in the UK, the market where the company and focused. Machines Magic of OZ, Midnight Lucky Sky, Cleopatra Treasure enjoyed relative success.
The gameplay was not very diverse:
For example, in Cleopatra Treasure, you could open free spins (5, 10, and 15), and a prize game in which you have to choose one of the three pots. Although already in New York Gangs offered two bonus games. The graphics are normal – the slots are very similar to those produced by famous competitors (Playtech, Microgaming, Novomatic).
In addition to attending numerous exhibitions and industry shows (from G2E to ICE Totally Gaming), in 2010, the manufacturer CTXM received four nominations from EGR B2B Live.
The studio has released several games with progressive jackpots: New York Gangs, Freaky Gym, Fruit Salad Jackpot, Gold in Bars, Hot 7's. the Last three are designed for three reels.
CTXM (Games OS) – once a successful developer of gambling software, succeeded primarily in the British market. Over the years of its existence (2001 – 16), the provider has released more than 100 games, managed to cooperate with SEGA and Microsoft, integrated its games into social networks through a proprietary platform. Although this is not officially mentioned anywhere, but in fact, Games OS became part of the Skywind Group.
Games OS (CTXM) was a software provider developing games for online casinos. Now, the company does not release new slots.
No, since 2016, the company does not offer new video slots, but its games are still available in many internet casinos.
Some titles used to be rather popular among customers of some internet casinos, but now they are not in demand.
