Not all croupiers know this term, but any dealer is able to perform the movement, which is called a drop–cut.

Description

Drop Cut – the technique of counting a certain number of chips by the dealer.

The croupier takes the stack in his hand and moves his index finger to cancel the desired number of tokens from the bottom. 

This is one of the first techniques of handling chips, which are taught to future dealers in the course of the dealer. Without mastering it, it is impossible to quickly and efficiently conduct the gameplay at the tables for roulette, poker, blackjack, and other gambling games.
